I got back to New York on May 11th. The last few days in Paris were bittersweet. It was sad to see the new friends I had made abroad figure out their last-minute travel arrangements. At the same time, I was excited and eager to see my family, friends, and my boyfriend after four months. In retrospect, I wish I had written more about my adventures in Paris, but one could argue that the memories embedded in my head do more justice to those times, rather than the simple words on a blog.
As of today, I have about two weeks before Bonnaroo in Manchester, Tennesee. The driving plans are still in the works— trying to find out the most economical way to get down there— but I have confidence everything will work out just fine. I’m still waiting to receive my wristband in the mail!
I have been occupied reading James Joyce— a few of his short stories from Dubliners and the masterpiece that is, Ulysses. It’s a good thing my brother was an English major and kept all the books and the annotated accompaniments.
Nothing else to report.
à bientôt

Pericles
Pericles was an orator, a statesman and general in Athens between the persian and Peloponnesian wars. He stressed literature and arts. It is said that he is the reason that Athens is the center of ancient Greek culture.
Welp, it looks like I have less than a month left in Paris. I wish I updated this blog more often! What’s left for me to do? I’m currently working on my semester CORE project, which is basically a presentation (due April 24th) about a specific subject in France that allowed me to adapt/integrate into the French culture. That’s a very vague description. I chose to explore the different places Amélie went to in the “Fabuleux Destin d’Amélie Poulain.” Since the movie was set in Paris, I figured I had no excuse not to go to leCafé Deux Moulains, where the creme brulée is, of course, named after her. Most of the places where relatively close to each other— all on the Right Bank. I have to write a three-pager on the entire experience and present a slideshow with the photos I took of all the locations. The work has been going swimmingly.
Moving away from all the academic talk….. I went to this restaurant calledLe Volcanbyrue Moufftard yesterday with a few friends. We were able to get a great three-course meal for 12 euros! I had onion soup as a starter, beef bourginon as an entree, and two fabulous scoops of chocolate and café ice cream. TRES BON.
Afterwards, we went to my friend, Bailyn’s house by theCommercemetro stop, played “Name that Tune,” laughed a bit, and reveled about being fabulous AND studious Americans in Paris.
bisoux!
